You’ll be under local anaesthesia, similar to dental procedures. Most patients feel pressure or mild discomfort, not sharp pain. We also provide medications to manage post-op tightness and discomfort during the first few days.

You can usually return to light work in 2–3 days. Small scabs will be visible in the first week, then they fall off. Most patients feel comfortable meeting friends or going back to the office after 7–10 days with simple styling or cap use.

At RR Hair Clinic, Dr Wan designs your hairline based on age, ethnicity and face shape. We avoid straight “doll hair” lines and create irregular, soft hairlines that blend with your existing hair. Our goal is for people to say, “You look fresher,” not “You did a transplant.”

FUE uses tiny punches to extract individual follicles. This typically leaves small dot-like marks at the donor area which are usually not noticeable once hair grows to a normal length. Our doctor will advise you on expected healing and how to cut or style your hair after the procedure.

Not everyone is suitable for a transplant. During assessment, our doctor will check your donor area and overall pattern of hair loss. If you are not a good candidate, we will be honest with you and recommend alternative medical treatments instead of pushing you into an unsuitable procedure.

New hair usually starts to grow from 3–4 months onwards. You will see clear changes around 6–9 months, with full maturation typically around 12 months after the procedure. We schedule follow-up reviews to monitor your progress.
